the REAL meaning of "Do what thou wilt..."

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." does NOT mean "do what ever you want".

The word 'wilt' refers to 'will', meaning 'True Will' or 'one's purpose in life'. It is NOT a license to act like an animal... because in doing something unwanted to someone, you would in fact be violating THEIR right to 'do what thou wilt', or pursue THEIR true purpose in life.

The serial killer might try to say "It's my true will to be a murderer." Well no, you are mistaken, because it is impossible for someone else's purpose in life to BE murdered!

If everyone did their 'true will', there would be no conflict. This is the meaning of "Every man and every woman is a star."

Like the planets in the heavens, we all have our 'orbit' - our 'place in life', pursuing our 'True Will'. Both the Earth and the Moon coexist without conflict, as long as each stays 'true to it's path'... if one(or both) should 'veer off course', disaster will arise! And so it is with Mankind.

THAT is what "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." really means. The 'law' is find out your true purpose in life, and DO IT. Some people are born to be musicians or writers or caregivers, and when they try to do other stuff, they'll be unsuccessful or if 'successful', they're unhappy(we all know people like that, huh?). Is that little kid cutting the frog into pieces just a sadistic little shit or is he a budding scientist, veterinarian or doctor?



There's nothing 'sinister' or 'evil' about it.
